About Us

What is ESN?

Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is one of the biggest interdisciplinary student associations in Europe. ESN was founded in 1989 with the goal of supporting and developing student exchange. ESN has different local sections in 32 countries spread over Europe and is constantly developing and expanding. ESN is operating on three different levels; Local, National and International. 

The main focus of ESN is placed on current exchange students, who often face problems (and feel abandoned) in their environments. Therefor ESN offers help in academic, social and practical integration process. This is mainly done through activities in the local sections, which include cultural and social events such as trips to various places in the country, film nights, buddy group and language projects and international food fests and last, but not least, parties! In addition to that, many sections have introduced mentor systems, which help the international students mainly in academic and practical integration. ESN also provides relevant information and encourages the future exchange students to gain international experience and gain relevant insight to different cultures.

About IxESN Wageningen:

IxESN Wageningen is one of the local sections that is part of the bigger Erasmus Student Network. IxESN Wageningen is an organization led by and for (international) students. Our focus is not only on Erasmus Exchange students, but all international and Dutch students who are studying in Wageningen are welcome to join our activities.

Every week IxESN Wageningen organizes an activity, from parties to International Kitchens and from sports events to workshops. Next to that we also organize excursions two times a period to different cities, not only in the Netherlands, but also abroad. 

IxESN Wageningen also has it’s own office. This is also where the service desk is locate. Everyday during office hours, you can drop by to ask questions, sign up for events or to rent a bike!

From Monday until Friday: 9.00 – 17.00 hours.

During the study and exam week the office is open from Monday until Friday: 12.00 – 14.00 hours.
